National Poetry Day - 7th Oct 2021


Theme: Choice


National Poetry Day is a UK-wide celebration of poetry, taking place on October 7th and the theme this year is 'Choice'. 

Over the years we’ve had poetry in schools, poetry in burger vans, poetry on the news, poetry on the side of buildings, poetry strapped to the legs of carrier pigeons.


To celebrate National Day of Poetry. 

Safe and Sound Dorset are happy to announce a Poetry Competition to win a prize of your choice up to the value of £100

3, Winner will be announced on 5th November 2021 personally and on social media.

4, Winner agrees for Safe and Sound Dorset to publish the poem on all social media channels and on our website with the winner’s name. Safe and Sound Dorset has all publishing rights.

5, The judges’ panel decision is final.

6, Judges are looking for imagination and creative writing that shows expressions and feelings around the theme “CHOICE” 

7, The monetary value of the prize is approx. £100  for tickets to an event, theatre, cinema, or an outing of your choice and must be redeemed this way, cash cannot and will not be given.

8, Participants must be over 18 yrs old or supervised by an adult.

9, Poems must be at least 50 words or more.

10, Entries with negative language will be disqualified.

11, Entries must be in English. 

12, There is no purchase necessary to enter this competition.

13, This competition is privately sponsored by a member of Safe and Sound Dorset direct. Therefore, no other platform has any responsibility for the competition.
